Getting the Right Device
Over-the-air television is broadcast using masts near you. You can pick up these broadcasts with an antenna. This is the only thing you'll need to watch free Belgian television across the country.
You can watch over-the-air television on your regular television set as well a desktop or laptop computer. Select your prefered way of watching television on the right and we'll tell you what equipment you'll need.
Scanning for Channels
No matter which device you choose, you will have to scan for channels at some point during the installation process. Detected channels will be assigned a channel number for quick access.
Belgian television transmitters also provide the following services:
- Teletext -- Like on cable, you can access teletext on all channels that carry it. Digitext is not carried by Belgian transmitters, but some other countries do have it.
- Electronic Program Guide (EPG) -- See what's playing on television right now and look ahead several days. This is particularly useful if you record lots of programs.
